The UNC Trumpet Festival was started in 2012 and features guest artists from all across the country!  Check back this spring for dates for the 2014 UNC Trumpet Festival!

Date:  November 16, 2013

Location:  Union Colony Civic Center

701 10th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631

Time:  The festival will begin at 9am with a group warm up session and conclude with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra Performance at 7:30pm

Events:  Masterclasses and performances from Richard Stoezel, UNC Jazz Faculty, Bill Pfund, Dr. John Adler, David Champouillon, the UNC Trumpet Ensemble, Peter Pickett, and the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra

Registration and Costs:  The festival is TOTALLY FREE to all attendees!! Additionally, anyone who registers by November 11 gets a free ticket to the Greeley Philharmonic Concert!  To register for the festival contact us HERE

Richard Stoezel:

Trumpet Professor at Grand Valley St. University, Richard Stoezel’s orchestral experience includes performances and positions with the New Orleans Philharmonic, Palm Beach Opera, New World Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, and has numerous recordings released.  Richard was the host of the 2013 International Trumpet Guild Conference.

Peter Pickett:

Pickett Brass uses several state of the art CNC machines and skilled finishing to produce the world class quality trim sets in a variety of weights and appearances. In addition, we are applying our years of playing and manufacturing experience with top professional names in trumpet playing today to produce truly one of a kind mouthpieces that are second to none in quality and design. 

An alumnus of the famed jazz programs at the University of Miami and the University of Northern Colorado, David Champouillon is a Performing Artist for Bach Trumpets, Professor of Trumpet and Jazz at East Tennessee State University, Director of the ETSU Jazz Program, and leader of The Jazz Doctors and the ETSU Faculty Brass.

Michael Rodriguez

Jazz Trumpet Artist and Yamaha Performing Clinician Michael Rodriguez currently resides in New York City.  He has performed and recorded with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Charlie Haden, Joe Lavano, Eddie Palmieri, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Chico O’Farrill, and Bob Mintzer.

Justin Bartels

Principal Trumpet of the Colorado Symphony since 2008, Justin Bartels is rapidly becoming one of the most in demand trumpeters in the country.  In addition to his work with the CSO, Justin has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the symphony orchestras of Houston, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Charleston, and was a member of the prestigious New World Symphony Orchestra.
